Thankfully people have faithfully prayed for our city for decades and, no doubt, centuries. The vision of Pray4Exeter is to build on that foundation. Pray4exeter is a servant initiative for the whole Body of Christ - its sole agenda is to serve and bless this city. Our desire is for this vision to be as widely owned as possible.

In pray4exeter we make certain assumptions:

1. God answers prayer!
   "the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name" John 15:16
2. There is only one church in the city: Jesus’ church.
   "that they may all be one. As you, Father, are in me and I am in you" John 17:21
3. Prayer is for every generation: children & young people as well as adults- in fact it is essential that the generations agree together in prayer:
   He will turn the hearts of parents to their children and the hearts of children to their parents, so that I will not come and strike the land with a curse. Malachi 4:6
   If two of you agree down here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you Matthew 18:19
4. God loves diversity; there are many valid expressions of our prayers.
