We thank God that Charley and Rachel Stockley plus four children have been commissioned and are now in Australia training before taking up their new ministry with the Missionary Aviation Fellowship. Another couple in the church are seeking God's will as to taking up an important pastoral responsibility. It is a great privilege for a rural church to be so actively involved in wider ministry.

Prayer:

The cause for praise also has major financial implications. Please pray that a generous and committed people may know God's promised provision.

Thanks: for the much needed services of an organist/ key board player which we now enjoy for three weeks of the month.

* Here at ECC we are currently half way through the 'Experiencing God (knowing and doing the will of God)' course and it is challenging us to look for what God is doing rather than setting our own agenda. Praise God for what He is teaching us.

Please pray for the wonderful work of ICE in the schools in our city. For the directors - for wisdom and clarity as they oversee the work of the trust. For all who are working in the schools, particularly for Hannah, Anne-Marie and Ed - for daily grace, wisdom, guidance, energy and love for the children and young people they serve, and that they will walk closely with God and reflect the love of the Lord Jesus to staff and students alike.

Please pray for SOUL EXETER and FNX as they hold a combined event on Friday 11th June. Andy Croft, the Associate Director of Soul Survivor, will be speaking and his wife, Beth Croft (formerly Coulson) will be leading worship. Pray that many, many young people will come. Pray that those who are already believers will be encouraged in their faith and that those who are not yet believers will see and hear the Lord Jesus speaking to them through the words and the music and that many will respond and want to follow Him.

YMCA

Please pray also for the wonderful work of the YMCA as they provide accommodation and support for vulnerable young people in our city. May those who stay there find the safety and love of God and a future and a hope for their lives. Pray too for the job club run by the YMCA as they help young people prepare for the world of work, give help with writing C.V.s etc and build links with the business community and public sector employers to place people in employment. Some of those helped are ex-offenders - pray that they will find hope and a purpose in life and a fresh start.

* Give thanks for the appointment of a new Associate Minister (to start in August) and for the new PCC.

* Please pray for our ongoing process of becoming an independent parish and our efforts to reach people locally for Christ.

Please pray for 3 courses that we are about to start - Alpha and Freedom in Christ (to be held on Thursdays from 7.15pm-9.30pm, starting 13th May) and our 6 week Bible School (focusing on 'Revelation & End Times' starting Sunday 9th May). Please pray for God to inspire people to come and learn something new about God and for the various team members that will be involved in leading the courses.

Firstly to explain that we are no longer called the Old Chapel but' Westgate Christian Fellowship' as of two months ago.

This change is part of a general moving forward, so our prayer points are:-

1. Please pray for our continued witness around the area of the church.

2. Please pray for the continuing work amongst the Hungarian community and for those coming to a weekly Bible study who do not yet know the Lord.

Please pray for God's blessing and guidance for the church and for its witness in the surrounding neighbourhood and particularly for this month's outreach to the local nursing home and to the homeless.

* Praise the Lord for many good contacts made over Christmas and through the door-to-door ministry. Pray that these contacts will become converts.

* Pray for our Holiday Bible Club 6-9th April.

* Pray for our Christianity Explored Course beginning end of April.

WEEK BEGINNING SUNDAY 28TH FEBRUARY

* As we approach Easter, we will be following a Lent Course with the title: When I Survey: Christ's Cross and ours. Please pray that as a community and as individuals we discover something more of the power, glory and wonder of Christ's death and resurrection.

* We are planning a weekend away at Brunel Manor in November. This is the first time our churches have done something like this. Please pray that people catch the vision and are willing to step out into this new venture.

WEEK BEGINNING SUNDAY 21ST FEBRUARY

* We thank God that we now a have an occasional Organist, but we also would welcome an addition to our musical participation.

* We are still praying for committed local Christians to assist/develop the church ministry.

* We would like to expand the Thursday afternoon prayer/bible studies which commence at 2.pm.

WEEK BEGINNING SUNDAY 14TH FEBRUARY

* Please remember us in your prayers especially regarding the right course to take regarding our future due to declining numbers. One particular cause of this is "Residents Only" parking in all the streets around the church. People are not prepared to drive round and round to find a parking place.

* Give thanks to God, though, that we are continuing happily with excellent Bible teaching from our weekly Bible topics series given by our own members as well as visiting preachers. Our Wednesday Ladies Fellowship at 2.45 pm is also continuing well. Also give God thanks for the witness from our church for the past 114 years! (Although the founding members met in a local cottage for 13 years before that).

Please pray for us as we seek God's will at Silverton for the next phase of ministry here.

We are seeking God's will to ascertain whether a full-time minister, evangelist or youth worker etc. might be the way forward.

It is important that we get it right and this is going to need much prayer and planning.

Please pray for all these wonderful ministries amongst young people in our city. For wisdom and grace for all those leading them, for financial provision and all the resources needed for them to continue to fulfil the work God has given them.

ICE: Please pray for our work in the schools: for our team - Hannah, Anne Marie, Rich and Ed; for all our Associate Youth Workers and for our Directors. For wisdom, love and the Holy Spirit's guidance for all involved so that our children and young people might experience the love of God and come to know the Lord Jesus.

SOUL EXETER: Please pray for our time of worship, teaching and ministry on the second Saturday evening of each month - that lives will be changed and young people will be encouraged in their faith. In December we will have an ex-cocaine dealer/gang member coming.

FNX - Give thanks for the 11 young people who became Christians at the recent FNX and for those who recommitted their lives to Jesus. FNX is held once a term for young people who are not church go-ers and there were more non-Christian young people at the last one than ever. Pray for our planning for future events - for the Holy Spirit's guidance.

YMCA: Please pray for us as we seek to provide a caring home for young people who need one, for our Prison Project working with offenders in HMP Exeter and HMP Channings Wood, and our Job Club helping homeless people and ex-offenders get into work, often for the first time.

1. For our outreach: Tuesdays are a big day for us with our toddler group, youth groups, and Christianity Explored course all running that day.

2. For mission partners in I: that following the recent earthquake there they will have many opportunities to share the gospel.

3. For our fellowship: Please pray that new people to Trinity would soon feel settled and able to play a full part in our life and witness.

4. For our future planning: That we'll be able to appoint someone soon as Associate Minister. For wise planning as we look at becoming an independent parish church next Easter.

5. For the church family as we continue to mourn the sudden death of Ken MacLeod, who was a churchwarden, Sunday school leader and preacher. Ken died in July, aged 46, leaving a widow (Steph) and three teenage children (Ethan, Daniel and Hope).

Pray for the University Students who have been visiting us on Sundays and in the week as well, that they will be blessed by being with us.

* For a united, prayerful and generous church asking God that these things might be protected as they are always a point of attack by the evil one.

* For one couple working as missionaries in Peru and another who have been accepted - subject to visa and work permits etc - by MAF in Northern Australia. Pray for the heavy financial implications that support will require from the fellowship.

Prayer:-

* That work for the extension for our worship area and the provision of extra vestry and storage space will proceed smoothly during the summer holidays.

1. Please pray for our annual Exwick Sunday Funday Sunday 19th July 12 noon to 4pm when we will be taking the Church out onto the field alongside the canal. There will be a number of stalls and activities including a sing-a-long songs of praise with testimonies. Other Exwick community groups are sharing in the event.

2. Give thanks for Exwick Street Pastors which has caught the imagination and involved members of ECC.

3. Please pray for our Church Weekend Away in September when the theme is 'The Person and work of the Holy Spirit'.

* God's guidance as we seek to become more involved with community projects.

* God's help with staffing.

* For help beginning new homegroups and new homegroup leaders.

During the last many years the Lord has been increasing telling us that his Great Commission was to ''Go' and make disciples of all nations...and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.'

After heaps of prayer and listening to what God has been saying we will as from May 17th be meeting on the 3rd Sunday of every month until Christmas (after which we know what he wants us to do) at Broadclyst Primary School, from 10:30 until approx 11:45 -12:00.

It will be a church where folks will be able to come and find out who the Lord really is and to come into that relationship which he requires without being pressurized by the 'religious' people.

Loads of new things (for us anyway) will be happening as we reach out with God's love and grace, and have already been blessed by brothers and sisters from other fellowships taking a leadership role in this outreach.

When we meet at the school we will be known as Broadclyst Community Church whilst the children enjoy their own JAM sessions. - if you want to know more about JAM come and find out!

* Praise God for the steady stream of new babies in our church family! Pray that they might all come to know and love the Lord Jesus.

* Pray for our new PCC to lead the church with wisdom.

* Pray that our outreach through Toddlers and Babes, youth groups for local un-churched children, Christianity Explored and Discipleship Explored, would lead to people trusting in Christ.

* Praise God that we have more than met our budget for the coming year. Pray that we might also have enough to employ an Associate Minister.

1. Saturday 25th April is the first training event for Street Pastors. Please pray that good numbers will come and the right people will come forward (there has been a very encouraging amount of interest). Please pray for the ongoing training too.

2. At the Bank Holiday weekend we will be taking part in a number of projects in the community as part of 'Hope where you live' - please pray for this opportunity to share God's love with our neighbours.

3. Please pray for the launch of our "Celebrate Recovery" programme at the beginning of May to help those dealing with life problems including addictions - pray that people in need will find God's help through the course.

WEEK BEGINNING SUNDAY 19TH APRIL

1. God has blessed us with an influx of Hungarians, mainly believers but some seekers. Because Tom, one of the leaders of the fellowship, is fluent Hungarian speaking, this has provided a natural and spiritual home, and a great way to integrate.

We would value prayer for the Hungarian weekly Bible study which is becoming an outreach to more Hungarians in the city.

2. We've started to upgrade the chapel and have to meet Listed Building considerations. Please pray as we press ahead, not only to maintain its historical value but especially as place for God's glory and use.

3. Please pray for those considering baptism.

* Continuing outreach to a large number of parents through Toddlers groups.

* A world-mission weekend soon challenging us in our support and involvement beyond ourselves.

* Pray for the on-going work of the ICE team in Exeter's Secondary and many Primary schools.

* Praise God for the youth that come each month.

* One of the challenges is that we are only together for a couple of hours each month. Please pray that youth are able to engage quickly and that there is lasting benefit from our celebrations.

* Worship is a core focus but there is a danger of it being too much about lively songs, please pray for deepening worship beyond the music.

* Most months, someone comes to faith, please pray that this would continue and that new believers would be discipled well.

* Thanks for a brilliant staff team, dedicated to serving Jesus and all those we work with - the homeless, offenders, the jobless - the kinds of people Jesus enjoyed mixing with 2000 years ago!

* Thanks for God's provision in so many ways, seeing us through another financial year with growth in our work whilst others are having to cut back in these times of recession.

* Pray for Rob Turner as he joins the YMCA to head up our Job Club, a new project working with ex-offenders and homeless people to help them get into employment. In these challenging times, it is the marginalised who lose out most, so pray that this project will be really effective AND show those we work with that they are precious to God.

* Pray for our Prison Project. After a difficult few years, this project is once again on a firm footing and has recently expanded to work with offenders in Channings Wood Prison in Newton Abbot. As we recruit for a new team leader, pray that God will raise up his person for this project at this time.

* With many new opportunities emerging, we need God to provide the £££ for us to be able to seize them. Pray for wisdom and perseverance in fundraising, and for God's people to once again get behind Exeter YMCA as they did in the 90s.

We can give thanks that our pastor John Adams is back at work after his heart attack in July, although he has to take it easy. The specialist is waiting to see if further treatment is necessary.

Since the closure of Exwick Middle School we have been meeting at the Parish Hall which is not entirely suitable - please pray for wisdom as we consider various options for the building.

We will have vacancies on our leadership team in the new year and we would value prayer for members to put their names forward if they feel called to serve.

We have a number of teenage boys who have the usual difficulty with commitment to the church at that age. We pray for their salvation and would value prayer support for them.

We are currently looking at how we can serve our community and are praying for guidance.

* Praise God that our youth worker, Hloni, from South Africa, got his visa approval last week, after an appeal. Pray for the provision of funding to support him, and for accommodation. We expect him to arrive in September.

* Please pray for Pinhoe Church, which has a flower festival in September.

* Please pray for Clyst Honiton Church who are preparing to introduce a monthly family service, supported by the other churches in our group.

Please pray for the Devon Christian Youth Camp Girls Camp taking place this week and for those young people who just been on the other DCYC camps. Please pray for wisdom, grace and strength for all the helpers; for protection for the young people and for changed lives through the word of God and for lasting fruit.

Please pray too for the Soul Survivor camps and the many young people who've gone from our churches - that they will be encouraged in their faith and that those who don't yet believe will put their trust in the Lord Jesus.

There are small signs of growth, so we thank God for that and pray that this growth will continue - and enable us to have a strong prayer meeting in the Church. Also we are hoping to start a coffee morning in the Church Hall.

1. Please will EEP members pray for follow up to the Creationfest at Nightchurch and Life on the Beach, 25th and 26th July.

Last year we had 15 professions of faith and would love to see some more people come to Christ this weekend.

2. We need a few more pioneer disciples for Nightchurch for the coming year (08/09). At present we have 6.

3. Please pray for a growing openness to mission and outreach proposals in the leadership at the Cathedral. There are encouraging signs but still some resistance.

4. We have an Open Weekend at the Cathedral on 3rd, 4th and 5th October.

Friday is a barn dance for all the staff and families (about 130 people in total) to help break down barriers and build up our common life together.

Saturday is for the people of Devon and Exeter; we have a children's entertainer, free tours and (because its St Francis Day!) an Animal Service. We are hoping for, and expecting, hundreds of people. A good opportunity for the Gospel.

Sunday 5th is a rededication of all our volunteers.

Pray for the speakers - Marion Meyers who is hosting it, Arianna Walker (from Mercy Ministries UK) and Dr Sharon Johnson (from Elim's Regents Training Centre) - that the women who come will hear God's word, be encouraged in their faith and draw closer to the Lord.

* Please pray for the Community Action Team - for the Open House Cell and for those who run the soup kitchen for the homeless - may people in need receive God's love through them.

WEEK BEGINNING SUNDAY 15TH JUNE

The Church has been hit very hard in the last 12-18 months by 7 of our members being called to "Higher Service" and 7 of our active and able members having felt drawn to larger churches. Please pray for weekly activities and if it is God's will - GROWTH!

* Today the whole church is spending the day at Treworgie Barton in North Cornwall. Please pray that God will bless our fellowship together and that it will be a friendship-building time.

* Please pray for our preparations for "Life on the Beach" on 5th July.

Please pray that as we get more frustrated with the delays in signing the 106 agreement we don't lose our enthusiasm and calling to this major project, and that we remain focused in preparing for ministry within this new community.

Please continue to pray for our outreach into both the Primary School and Clyst Vale College. We are slowly seeing results which not only gives us a small Junior Church/Sunday School but also brings us unchurched parents!!

Please pray...

* For those attending our current Alpha Course, that they respond to the gospel.

* For our beach baptisms (in June) that many non - Christians attend and are challenged to follow Jesus themselves.

* That those students who are looking for work in the immediate area following their studies, will find jobs that will allow them to continue to help us build the church here in Exeter.

* We give thanks that we have now called a new minister who will start in September.

* Please pray that the Fellowship will respond to the challenge of a new ministry and that we together will be able to make an impact in the area in which we're placed both among older and younger people.

* We are looking to employ a pastoral assistant. Please pray for God's provision of the right person.

* A team has just returned from visiting our sister church in North India. Please pray that we will be envisioned to continue to support and learn from them.

Please pray especially for our Hope 08 events in St. Thomas over the May bank holiday including an open air service, a five-a-side football tournament for young people and several other community events.

* We are very thankful for answered prayer for our 'Journey Into Deep Space' evangelistic night in February. A packed house with many non Christians - we even had a few attend who decided that the films showing that same night at the Picture House cinema (opposite us) was not to their liking, so they came over to hear the gospel instead!

* Please pray for two of our young people getting baptised this weekend - that their lives will be an inspiration to others.

* Please pray that we will be salt that hasn't lost its flavour and light that isn't covered.

1. Pray that Mark Perkins would be bold in making known the gospel.

2. Pray God would give salvation to many.

3. Pray upcoming evangelism seminars would send more workers into the harvest.

1. Please pray for the preparations for the Bible studies and cafes which will recommence when the summer term begins on 21st April.

2. Please pray that those with seeking hearts will come to the Bible studies and find the Lord Jesus.

1. Praise God for a new co-ordinator for the telephone ministry, which will be concentrating on listening, caring and evangelism.

2. Please pray for more volunteers to come forward to help cover the telephone, and also for more helpers for the soup kitchen.

- Follow-up from a series of outreach Hope '08 events which we've been running all week, feeding people into a new Christianity Explored course in April.

- Holiday Club preparations for after Easter, esp outreach to non-church families.

- Provision of two more Ministry Assistants to join our staff in September to work among students.

WEEK BEGINNING SUNDAY 16TH MARCH

* Give thanks for recent conversions, especially among the young people, and pray for their spiritual growth.

* Pray for FNXtra and the activities taking place in the area, that these will lead to spiritual growth for the Christians taking part and to salvation for others.

* Pray for a continued and growing desire amongst us to reach out to others with the message of true hope.

Please pray for...

1. Our At Home Care Service and the appointment of God's choice as future coordinator.

2. The development of the Lend-a-hand service, giving opportunities to show the love of God to people.

3. For fruitful Hope 08 youth and family outreach events to be held at St. James school from 9-11th April as part of the fnxtra week... a Dance School, a Rock School, Football Skills courses, Gospel Choir, Kids club and a large scale community event on Friday 11th.

4. Our regular Friday kids' club at Willowbrook.

WEEK BEGINNING SUNDAY 2ND MARCH

* Please keep praying for the good number of seekers on our 'Christianity: Unbelievable?' Alpha-style course.

* Our under 5s ministry remains our biggest contact with unchurched folks. Please pray for that, and for Carol Browning as she heads it up.

* We're currently reviewing our doctrinal stance of women's roles in ministry. Please pray for wisdom and unity.

WEEK BEGINNING SUNDAY 24TH FEBRUARY

2008 is Pinhoe Road's 75th birthday! Please join us in giving thanks for God's faithfulness in these years and in praying that our celebrations may bear fruit for God's glory, and especially that many may come to faith.

* For our Alpha course, running from now until April

* For growing sense of vision, fellowship, partnership between young and old, modern & traditional etc.

* For work with schools: Pinhoe Primary, St Luke's College, Clyst Vale Community College and Broadclyst Primary.

* For plans to engage a SWYM worker. (Probably starting in March or April)

* For growth as we share a Lent Study course with Broadclyst Baptist Church.

Please pray that we might have more local workers committed to the Church, - for ministry, music, Children's Group etc. There is certainly plenty of opportunity for the further development of the Church activities.

Please pray for the following:

* A growing desire for outreach at the Cathedral from members of the congregation and the leadership.

* Give thanks for the 18 people on the Exploring Christianity course on Friday evenings and that those who are participating will come to full discipleship in Christ.

* That 'Nightchurch' may grow in compassion, spirituality and numerically.

* For imaginative faith sharing this summer through Life On The Beach /Hope 08. Planning and engagement.

* For our life together as ministers - for Christ's unity in the diversity.

* We thank God for some months of consolidation and growth. We have just taken seventy-five of our people away on a church weekend which was a really worthwhile time.

* As we start out into Hope 2008 we pray that we as a church can be blessed and used in Silverton as we try to reach out to the village in all sorts of ways.

1. Thanks for well attended Christmas services and new contacts.

2. Thanks for completion of move of venue to the Parish Hall.

3. Prayer for this term's emphasis on training in personal evangelism.

4. Prayer for Monday night children's ministry and Friday morning adult drop-in at Kinnerton Way Community Centre.
